Parenting Support

Every child brings unique joys and challenges, making parenting both one of the most rewarding and one of the most difficult life experiences. Professionals at The Right Door are here to help parents in a variety of ways:

Parent Guidance Sessions

Sometimes parents know their child needs additional support, but are unsure how to find the help they need. During a 60-minute parent guidance session, Rebecca MurrayMetzger, Psy.D. helps parents clarify their current concerns and identify appropriate options for support, bringing to bear her knowledge of research-based interventions and providers in the community. Rebecca can also offer advice on collaborating with schools to support learning, including how to navigate to public school 504/IEP process. To contact Rebecca and learn more about her practice, please see her website at www.sfmindmatters.com. Or, click here to schedule a Parent Guidance session.

Parenting Workshops

Learning and reflecting in a group with other parents can be a highly effective way to improve our parenting skills. That’s why Margo Levi, LCSW offers Parents’ Turn, a six-week, skill building support group for parents of adolescents and young adults. For more information, please see Workshops/Events.
